*** I will have to give you my school account information because the assignment is on there and you wont know the unknown until you open up the assignment**** Instructions In this assignment, you will be provided with the molecular formula and 1H NMR spectrum for a selected organic molecule of "unknown" structure. Your task is to apply this information to determine the complete chemical structure of the unknown molecule. You will upload a drawing of this chemical structure as your response; you may also wish to provide additional information to qualify for partial credit (see grading rubric at bottom for partial credit details!). Once you open the assignment, you will have unlimited time to complete it up until the deadline. You may open and close your web browser as many times as you wish and your assigned problem will remain the same. Hence, you do NOT need to complete the assignment in one interval. You may only upload your answer file and click submit once. (Note: Reach out to me immediately if you accidentally click submit ...I can fix the problem.) NOTE: The project is OPEN to textbooks, lecture videos, information already available on the internet, and course notes. You must complete the project independently without the aid of anyone. This includes other students, tutors, and any type of posts to message boards (e.g. Q&A boards, Chegg, CourseHero). The posting of course materials online is prohibited at all times. All projects will be compared to internet resources for evidence of academic misconduct. You may only discuss the quiz with classmates after the submission deadline. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in an unforgivable F for the course. Grading Rubric [20 points possible]: 5 points for index of hydrogen deficiency: Index of hydrogen deficiency is accurately calculated. Proposed structure complies with the calculated index of hydrogen deficiency. 2 points for structure with correct molecular formula: Proposed structure has molecular formula (i.e. number of C's, H's, O's, etc.) that matches that given in the problem. 8 points for logical chemical shifts, integrals, and multiplicities: The integral, chemical shift, and multiplicity of each 1H NMR signal corresponds to that predicted for the proposed structure. (For partial credit, label H's from your structure with their proposed integral, chemical shift, and multiplicity from the 1H NMR spectrum so I can interpret your logic.) 5 points for correct functional groups: Functional group(s) shown in proposed structure correspond to the actual group(s) present within the molecular structure.
