InstructionI have to make a device that incorporates a block and tackle system with the goal of translating a 50 lb block of concrete along a concrete floor. Unlike the Hand project which my professor allowed for more design elements, this one has to be backed up with equations, mathematics and physical reasoning behind the design choices (for example the force it takes to move the load since its concrete on concrete the coefficients of friction could affect the force required to move it). So things like dimensions, strength properties, structural integrity and other things along those lines should be included with detail along with CAD drawings. The report is similar to the other one where sections should be dedicated to things like how the parts would be made and assembled, how it would be tested, failures and how we'd improve them which I know is difficult since we're not physically building it. I'll attach the "instructions" he sent along with a sketch just to give you a general idea of an example but it might be better and easier for you if you start from scratch with your own design. And like with the other project the professor gave little info on how it specifically should be done so there's not much more info i can send that might help. I can explain my sketch which shows a 3-1 mechanical advantage using a free moving pulley and a prusik knot, but it might be confusing so like I said it might be better to start from scratch. Technically the report should have been handed in like 2 weeks ago but I was trying to get through the finals for my other classes so I couldn't do it so if it can be done as soon as possible that'd be great.
