Due 12/14/2016

Using five visual examples, identify the most important or pivotal works of art from five DIFFERENT CULTURES/NATIONS/LOCATIONS. What makes a work of art important in the vast stretch of global history? Is it something that is typical of a society or of how we humans think of our place in the world? Or is it something that stands out as separate and equally important? This is NOT AN EASY ESSAY, but it is based on your educated opinion. Spend some time thinking about which examples you wish to use and how they join together to make up a story of global visual history. Explain your reasoning using vocabulary terms, descriptive language and relevance to history.

Will post some examples later on.
