Summary Exercise: Write a one page summary of chapter 6 - Developing an Argument on Your Own pages 221 - 253. A summary is a condensed version of the source and gives only the main points of that source. Do not include any direct quotes or examples in the summary. The summary should start with one sentence that gives the overall main idea/point of the reading. The body of the summary will present the other important points of the reading. Include the title of the reading in the summary, As you are using the ideas found in that source you will need to include in-text documentation and a works cited entry. Set the original aside, and write your paraphrase on a note card. Jot down a few words below your paraphrase to remind you later how you envision using this material. Check your rendition with the original to make sure that your version accurately expresses all the essential information in a new form.
