Upon successful completion of this module, the student will be able to satisfy the following outcomes:

Module Overview
In Module 1, we will establish the foundation upon which we will review future modules.
Module 1 will introduce you to the study of sociology. You will learn the sociological viewpoint, and you will begin to understand the differences between sociology and other social science disciplines.
Module 1 will also introduce you to the three major theoretical perspectives [A balanced, objective view of a situation], research methods [A method employed to collect data. Sociologists use six basic research methods to collect data], and ethical issues related to the field.
