Cameron Spear Definitions The word I chose to define for my Computer Science major will be boolean. First I will define it with a parenthetical definition, followed by a sentence definition, and finally a short expanded definition. Parenthetical: The best method to set up conditions for a loop is sometimes a boolean (a true or false variable). This definition helps simplify what a boolean is with a short clarifying phrase in order to let the audience know what is meant in as concise a manner as possible. Sentence: A boolean is a variable denoting a system of algebraic notation used to represent logical propositions. This definition helps show a bit more of what a boolean is by showing its broader implications in programming by pointing to its interactions in a code by representing algebraic notation, without making it more complicated than it needs to be. Short expanded definition: Within a programming environment, boolean data types are data types that have one of two possible values (usually true and false) and represent the two truth values of logic. This works by associating with conditional statements, which allow different actions within a program to change the control flow of the boolean, depending on what condition the variable satisfies. This definition does a better job of explaining what a boolean actually is and I used the approach of "how it works" because that best describes what the boolean is doing, being a variable itself dedicated to meeting certain conditions to solve a problem.
