Please read the attachments and answer the following questions.
1-Pick a social group and describe how that group is represented in advertising, music videos, movies, magazines, and wider popular culture. As an extension activity, you might collect some data on how that group is represented in various institutions besides media( remember, a group's absence is also significant). { Chapter 6}
2- The authors argue that there are three reason why sexism is difficult to see: the focus on individuals rather than patterns, the influence of corporate culture, and the ideology of civilized versus uncivilized people in the world. Example in your own words what each of these are and how they work.{ Chapter6}
3- The authors argue that racism is more than the acts of individual bad people. What, then is racism? What is problematic about reducing racism to simple the bad things some people think and do?{Chapter7}
4- What is intersectionality? Choose a few of your other social group memberships ( class, gender, sexuality, religion) and describe how they influence how you experience race.{ Chapter7}
5- What are the key differences between celebrating diversity and antiracist education? Discuss each of these differences and provide examples for each.{ Chapter8}
6-What do the authors mean when they use the term WHITE SUPREMACY? How dose White supremacy manifest in institutions?{ Chapter8}
