(you must use 1 primary source that is historical) (4 secondary sources that are academic sources, historical, since the 1980s) Sources such as textbooks, newspaper or magazine articles, book reviews, encyclopaedia entries, websites, videos/films, wikipedia, etc. ARE NOT allowed for this assignment. Part 1: Introduction. This is a one page introduction that tells your reader what your topic is, what your question is, and what your answer to that question is in the form of a clear thesis- statement.
Part 2: Evidence. Here, you will write five, one-page analyses (one per source) that each explain how that particular source supports your thesis-statement. If your one-page analyses are a little longer than one page, that is not a problem. Analyses that are substantially shorter than one full page will be penalized. Regular rules regarding citations apply. Part 2 should end with a short conclusion (half a page) that summarizes your evidence in a persuasive way.
Part 3: Bibliography. List your sources according to Chicago style. Remember that Chicago uses different formatting for footnotes/endnotes and the bibliography.
