Hey! I can help you with this assignment. I'm just gonna use Excel and Statools for the printouts and I'll type up all the step I used to get the answers. Lemme know if you still want help! Thanks!

  • Have you read the questions and understand what you need to do
    User_4600 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:16 AM
  • Yup, I need to input the numbers provided in the table and run a regression of how the size, number of stores, bathrooms, and age of the house affect the house price. Then print out the regression I run and write the regression equation.
    User_4079 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:20 AM
  • And answer the questions.
    User_4079 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:20 AM
  • its very easy, questions b and c are just plunging in the right numbers. But i need you to answer all the questions and needs to be done by 12:00pm (PST) on Thursday.
    User_4600 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:23 AM
  • if you can answers all the questions then the job is yours
    User_4600 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:23 AM
  • let me know
    User_4600 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:26 AM
  • No problem! I'll work on it today and have the answer sent to you later today around 6pm. Sounds good?
    User_4079 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:26 AM
  • any problems let me know
    User_4600 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:27 AM
  • Ok, sure no problem. Also before I start doing it, could u accept my bid? That way I know the time I put in is worth it.
    User_4079 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:30 AM
  • Thank you! Will post soon!
    User_4079 | Apr 16, 2014, 09:37 AM
  • I would like a update on the assignment. How are you doing
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 04:52 AM
  • You stated that it'll be done around 6pm, I would like a update on the assignment if you don't mind.
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 06:23 AM
  • I'm sry I was in class. I will post soon, just got home!
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 07:14 AM
  • ok
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 07:59 AM
  • I would like have an update on the assignment.
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 09:02 AM
  • I'm trying to figure out what the last question is asking for. But I'll upload what I've done.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 09:23 AM
  • I just uploaded what I have so far. The first tab in the excel file is the dataset from the problem, the 2nd tab is the regression with all the explanatory variables, and the other tabs are regressions where are I run a regression using each individual explanatory variable by itself to see what it's p-value is.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 09:38 AM
  • i noticed that e has not been finished, but i was curious why you have to subtract the stories on regression model. its just a simple regression formula
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:03 AM
  • yi = B0 + B1xi1 + B2xi2 + B3xi3....
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:06 AM
  • yi = B0 + B1xi1 + B2xi2 + B3xi3....
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:06 AM
  • I have both the simple regression with all the variables and a more robust one. Just read the explanation. If you don't want the part with the robust regression, where Sale Price = a + b1(Sq. Ft.), then you can take it out and leave the simple regression with all the variables.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:06 AM
  • I know I have the last part to figure out. I just need to understand what they mean by RR.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:09 AM
  • I know the your using this formula, your more detail than their needs to be. I also like to which is the appropriate regression spreadsheet that needs to be printed out (i assume the spreadsheet that is labeled only Regression")
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:10 AM
  • Yes, since you only want the simple regression, I would print out the dataset tab and the tab that says Regression with your name typed in.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:13 AM
  • I haven't look over your mathematics yet, but can you explain why you subtracted (stories) in the regression formula.
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:23 AM
  • What do you mean I subtracted? When you run the regression, the coefficient for stories is negative.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:36 AM
  • Look at the regression output.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:36 AM
  • I didn't do any calculations myself. I just did what the assignment asked and ran the numbers through excel stat-tools.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:37 AM
  • I did the math, it works. Good job, I'm just waiting on the last part (part e)
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:41 AM
  • Yup, I know. I'm looking up how to run RR in Excel.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:43 AM
  • Do you have any information from your course on what RR is?
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 10:48 AM
  • that's when you use the F Distribution Tables (http://www.socr.ucla.edu/applets.dir/f_table.html)
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:00 AM
  • I'm sorry but I can't seem to understand how to solve the question using an F distribution table. All I know from the regression is that F-Ratio = 35.091 and as a result, the regression is valid, with a p-value less than the 1% significance level.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:13 AM
  • Also I'm super tired and I don't think I'm gonna be able to solve the problem in this state.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:14 AM
  • you need to start first by F=MSR/MSE (Regression table) For the F chart Degrees of Freedom = number of xi (4)
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:17 AM
  • would you be able to finish it tomorrow
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:17 AM
  • Yes, I'll get on it first thing tmrw, since you want the answer before 12pm.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:19 AM
  • Ill add an extra hour so 1:00 pm also you need to re word section d
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:22 AM
  • Sure thing. But all you really need to do is take out the second paragraph and it's fine. But anyway, goodnight or good morning, whichever suits u.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:25 AM
  • you need to write it as if your talking to someone about it. Example: we are 95% confident that rick will achieve a profit of $20. Write it closely to that style, as if you were explaining this to a company or a person (like i said before)
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:25 AM
  • ill will write to you around 12:00pm to see where your at
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:26 AM
  • sure. i just assumed you wanted the questions answered not stylized. but i'll get on it in the morning
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 11:28 AM
  • I got the same answer on e, is their a difference on the new excel sheet than the old one.
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 23:15 PM
  • No, I just deleted the extra tabs.
    User_4079 | Apr 17, 2014, 23:17 PM
  • ok Im going to do a final review and after that ill pay you, Thanks for the work.
    User_4600 | Apr 17, 2014, 23:20 PM
  • Sure no problem.
