Instruction
Since this assignment is meant to replicate the process of carrying out research as a student, it should be possible to carry out the primary data collection component of your proposed research project within a six-month period, and within a budget that does not exceed $500 (this means no research assistants or funds for personal travel). While you won’t have to spell out the schedule and budget, you may choose to include these in an appendix to clarify what you proposed in greater detail.
1.Introduction (200words).Based in the feedback you receive from part 1 and the comments you receive, revise yourresearch questionandintroduction to explain more clearly where your topic comes from, why it is relevant, what questions you have, and why they are important.
2.Literature review (500 words). Synthesize the findings from the sources thatyou reviewed in your annotated bibliography. Use the feedback you received to organize these in order todemonstrate that your proposal is part of a larger academic conversation. (Explain how your researchquestion fits in with the theories, findings and methods that have already been developedin the articles you have read. )
3.Research design (200 words). Identify the research design(eg. experimental, longitudinal, cross sectional and case studies) and that you would use to answer your research questions. Explain
why it makes sense for answering your research question, in terms of the strengths and limitations of the design you have chosen.
4.Sample (200 words). What is the complete populationfor your study, the sampling method, and the sampling framethat you would use in order to select respondents? Does your project focus on hard-to-reach individuals, and if so,explain what creative methods you would use to reach your target population?
5.Methods (500 words). What research method(s) have you chosen(eg. interviews, focus groups, ethnography, etc.)? How do they serve your overall research design? What kind of data will result from your methods? How will they enable you to enable you to deliver accurate, reliable and valid results? If you have chosen more than one, why? Briefly describe the strengths and limitations of your research method: for example, can you generalize from your sample to a larger population? Explain how you would administer your research (for example if question-based: postal survey; telephone survey; personal interviews; focus groups, random on-street interviews, etc.). What are the strengths and limitations given the constraintsof your time, resources, and research design?
6. Ethics (200 words) Detail any ethical issues that arise from the population that you intend to study and the method of research that youplan to use. How would you manage the ethical issues that arise based on the type of study you propose?
