Instruction
Goals: This section includes your well-written, 2-page report on what career goals
you wish to achieve. Again, the tab goes first and then the word-processed pages
after.
Write two pages on what goals you have for yourself in your field. Start the two
pages with answering these questions. What are you doing to prepare for your career
outside of taking classes? If you are working, describe how this might be preparing
you for your career (even if you work in a different area). Are you involved in college
clubs, honor societies, fraternities, sororities, athletics, or any student or professional
organizations? What personal experiences do you have (travel, family, hard times,
challenges of life, achievements, etc.) that might enhance your career?
Then, describe what you would like to achieve in your field of study. What are
your goals? What do you want to do with your degree? Where do you want to end
up? What are your dreams in the field? This can include hopes of achievement such
as helping others, design aspirations, owning a company, etc. but also can include
financial goals such as financial independence, wealth, philanthropy, etc.
The goals section should be word-processed, double-spaced, 12 point font, Times
New Roman, 1” margins on all four sides, and a minimum of two full pages. No
name is needed on this page as it is a part of your entire paper. Collegiate writing
skills are expected. Be careful to proofread all work.
