Develop a proposal for a problem-oriented policing crime reduction program aggravated assault in a thr city of Chicago. Using publicly available crime and demographic statistics, you will apply methods and techniques learned in Research Methods of criminal Justice to develop the design of the field test so that, if implemented, one could measure its effects on the city’s crime rate.
Designing a research proposal requires planning and a specific format for putting your ideas together.
The following list provides the elements of a research proposal which you must address in this assignment.
1. Statement of Problem or Objective
2. Literature Review
3. Research Questions
4. Subjects for Study
Your proposal paper should address all four elements. Remember you have already submitted the literature review which included an overview of the problem or objective. You must now design appropriate research questions and discuss the subjects for the study. Remember, research proposals and studies evolve as they unfold, and need to be continually refined. As you get deeper into your research, you may find the need to adjust any one of these steps. For this assignment, it is critical that you develop a sound set of research questions for your study along with a description of and rationale for subjects to be investigated during the study. The research questions will then drive the remainder of your proposal. If done correctly, you should end up with approximately 7-8 pages, and you should devote approximately 3 pages to the statement of the problem/objective and literature review sections. Remember to use citations in the APA style and include a reference page.
