Instruction
Given:
A thirteen-year-old seventh grader is constantly drawing, sleeping, or daydreaming. The student reads at a second grade level and has poor reading comprehension skills. The student gets frustrated easily and eventually gives up on academic tasks. The student loves drawing and recess and lives with a parent who is recently divorced. The student is usually late to school, is friendly but has few friends, and has a hard time sitting still in a chair.
Task:
A. Describe at least three at-risk behaviors that you would address as this student's teacher, and explain why each behavior is problematic.
B. Briefly describe at least three instructional interventions that you, as this student's teacher, would implement in the classroom during the regular school day to address each at-risk behavior. (There should be a total of nine interventions.)
C. If you choose to use outside sources, include all in-text citations and references in APA format.
