A 10- to 12- page (not including references, title page, or abstract), double-spaced, APA-formatted paper that is submitted to the Instructor and must include:


a justification of the issue, problem, or concern that you selected and the type of project (prevention, intervention, or consultation) that you developed to address it;
an analysis of the evidence-based research related to the intervention(s) or treatment method(s) that you chose;
a description of your target population, stakeholders, and participants;
a description of the data collection and analysis methods that you will use for the needs assessment;
an explanation of the project goals and how you will assess them;

If writing a paper, it might be helpful to include each of these elements as a heading. EXPECTATION OF CITATIONS Content Knowledge


Your Final Project must demonstrate both breadth and depth of knowledge and critical thinking appropriate to graduate-level scholarship. Keep in mind that a requirement is a minimum of 10 resources beyond the learning resources in the course.

The Final Project for this course will be a demonstration of your mastery of the major concepts presented in the course as they relate to prevention, intervention, or consultation in a community, agency, or organization; you will be evaluated on your ability to think about, use, and integrate what you have read. You should go beyond just a summary of what you have read. You should also be well-balanced in your arguments, and go beyond the obvious (e.g., `counselors should use theory in practice with clients`) into specifics, gray areas, and more subtle questions. Keep in mind that this paper is a culmination of all you have learned in the class, and the reference list (and accompanying citations) should reflect this.

The rubric states that, among other things an exceptional final project with a perfect score on content knowledge will provide `In-depth understanding and application of concepts and issues presented in the course...showing that the student has absorbed the general principles and ideas presented and makes inferences about the concepts/issues or connects to them to other ideas;...and mastery and thoughtful/accurate application of knowledge and skills or strategies presented in the course.`
