Instruction
Do you think that the AAR's met the needs of the community? What has and has not been completed in these AAR's? How would you as a future emergency management professional research these type of reports and use them to enhance your community? This has been called a biblical flood, do you think there is a possibility of this happening again? Are the lessons learned enough? Do you think that an AAR is of benefit? If so for who? If not why not? Where is the community now in recovery?
Incident overview. What happened, when did it happen, how did it happen, etc.
Analysis. What was observed? What was expected? Was anything unexpected? Who was involved in the incident? What are the strengths? What are the areas of opportunity? The analysis portion of a post-action report should be the longest and most detailed portion of your report.
Recommendations. In the recommendations section of a report, detail ways to improve performance for future incidences.
Improvement/action plan. In the improvement plan, you will detail corrective actions to be taken for future incidences.
