Part 1: Module 7: Assignment 2 - Collaborative Instructional Planning Project – Individual Work
The major assignment for this course, the Collaborative Instructional Planning Project, was first introduced to you back in Module 1. Detailed directions were provided to you then, and your instructor has reminded you each week of the project to urge you towards its successful completion. Now, in Module 7, all portions of this assignment are due. One component reflects each individual student's work within the collaborative group.
Instructions:
Students were assigned to groups at the beginning of this course, and they met collaboratively with their group to develop a thematic unit related to the sacredness of the earth. Once the thematic unit topic was determined, collaboration continued so all content areas would be addressed with lesson plans developed by student group members. The group was to ensure that both English Language Arts and Math would have lesson plans for the thematic unit, and other content areas could be included as determined by the group.
For each of the group collaboration meetings, every student was to write a formative assessment of the group's collaborative efforts. Note that this is NOT the same as the group minutes. Here in the formative assessments, the collaborating student is evaluating the group's collaboration efforts. There is no particular form on which to record these thoughts. These assessments will NOT be seen by anyone other than the instructor, so students are asked to be honest in their assessments. Upon completion of the project, in a similar manner to the formative assessments, each student is to write one summative assessment of the group's collaborative efforts.
Once each student collaborator learned the content area(s) for which his/her lesson plans were to be developed, he/she used the Collaborative Lesson Planning Template Preview the document to create each of the required two lesson plans. It should be noted that both the name of the thematic unit as well as the standards on each of the lesson plans must match what appears on the Unit Planning Template. The formative assessments should be a paragraph each (6 total) and the summative should be a page.
