  • When purchasing a sound system, you need to consider the requirements, the budget, and how it will be used. For this project, you will choose a venue and create the following documents: System Diagram (all systems) and Room layout (if installed system) In either case, consider the coverage. Installed - who should control it, what are the zones, where and how many inputs Portable - how will it adapt to the rooms you plan to serve Equipment list / installation budget Installed - Will you need any other work (structural/electrical)? Portable - can you save $$ by building some of it? Don’t forget: cabling, connectors, hardware, furniture, Will you include maintenance? Training/support? Project timeline Installed - how long will it take to put in? How much of a mess can you make? Do you have to work around scheduled events? Portable - What would your hypothetical first clients be, and what would you need to do to prepare for them?
