Analysis of Conflict Management While Social Distancing

The purpose of the paper is to look at all of the conflicts and provide a broad assessment of interpersonal conflicts and conflict management during social distancing. For the next 14 days keep a journal of your interpersonal conflicts. In the journal record, keep track of the conflicts that you have each day. You should keep track of who was involved, your trips goals, the styles and tactics you used, emotions that were present in the conflict, constructive vs. destructive behaviors, power, and if the conflict was resolved. This journal will be your data for writing your report on interpersonal conflict management during social distancing. Paper Components: I. II. Introduction Provide an introductory paragraph that establishes the focus and goals of the paper. Be sure to provide a clear preview statement. Body The body of the paper should provide an analysis of your experiences with managing conflict while social distancing. III. A. B. C. D. E. F. What are the topical themes that are present in your conflict journal? In other words, what topics did you seem to have conflicts about? What role did power play in the conflicts that occurred while you were social distancing? Your discussion of power should include approaches to power and power currencies. In discussing power, please refer to Hocker and Wilmot (2018) and define all power concepts that you use. Use specific examples to illustrate your points. What role did emotions play in the conflicts? Which emotions were present? To what extent did people express emotions effectively? To what extent did emotions contribute to the escalation of conflict? What conflict styles were used in the conflict? Please refer to Hocker and Wilmot (2018) and define all style concepts that you use. Use specific examples from you interviews to illustrate your points. What negotiation skills were used to manage these interpersonal conflicts? How does interpersonal conflict management during social distancing compare with conflict prior to social distancing? What stands out as different? Why do you think this is? Conclusion Provide a concluding paragraph that summarizes what you have done in the paper and gives closure to the paper. COMS 480 Spring 2020 Documentation: You should clearly cite your sources in your paper using APA. In addition, you should provide a reference page at the end of your paper. Per the course policy on academic dishonesty, failure to quote and/or paraphrase sources appropriately could result in a failing grade on this assignment. At minimum, improper citation will result in a point penalty on this assignment. Format: Your essay should be typed, double-spaced in a 12-point font and you should use one-inch margins. This paper should represent your own work.
