Task (Instructions): In this written response, you should choose two aspects of our contemporary society and discuss and evaluate the impact of race and racism on these aspects. Select one aspect that you believe HAS NOT improved and one aspect that you believe HAS improved with regard to race, race relations, and/or structural racism. Examples of possible topics include: education, employment, and the justice system. You must discuss each topic from a historical perspective, and include your evaluation of why you think that particular aspect of our society has/has not improved as evidenced by data and facts. You must support/defend your arguments with DATA and FACTS. For the aspect of our society that you think has not improved, provide two reasonable and realistic suggestions for how you think we can improve and explain why you think your solutions will help. Please be certain that your solutions are reasonable and realistic. Please note that your electronically submitted response will be validated by a plagiarism checker. Students that submit work that is not their own will receive a zero for this assignment. PLEASE DO NOT cite a bunch of stacs to support/justify your argument. This is a 2-page maximum written response (2 pages of double-spaced or single-spaced text, not including the Literature Cited and Title page). You may use any style (e.g., MLA, APA) for in-text citations and the Literature Cited page. You must have at least six scientific/reliable sources outside of the course textbook. Please use Times New Roman, 12 point font with 1 inches margins (top, bottom) and 0.75-inch margins (left, right).
