Instruction
Each student will be required to write a 12- page research proposal worth 100 points of your overall grade. The research proposal will outline a research question/s, supported by relevant literature review, and a research method designed to examine your research question/s. Specifically, students are to select a topic of interest, and throughout the semester, conduct literature and scholarly article research. Your research proposal should have the following chapters: a. Title Page (not part of the 12-page count) b. Abstract (not part of the 12-page count) c. Chapter 1: Introduction (3 pages) d. Chapter 2: Literature Review (4 pages) e. Chapter 3: Methodology (5 pages) f. References (not part of the 12 page count) I will provide you with an example of a research proposal to best guide you as you write. You have ALL semester to work on this project, as this is also your FINAL EXAM. I will grade all research proposals very critically and look at all areas of your paper carefully. Therefore, grading for this assignment will be determine to the quality of the written assignment. In addition, do not wait until the last minute to begin writing your paper, as this can affect your grade if not written well. I will run all papers and check for plagiarism. If you plagiarize your research proposal, I will automatically give you an F in the course, no exceptions. I suggest e-mailing me your topic at the beginning of the semester to make sure you are on the right track, as I will be glad to give you feedback. ***I recommend you begin researching what goes in each section (i.e. Introduction, Literature Review, and Methodology) ***In a research proposal you are not conducting an actual study, you are simply proposing the study you are interested in conducting by: a. Introducing the Problem (Ch. 1) b. What studies have been conducted on this specific topic? (Ch. 2) c. How will you conduct this study? (Ch. 3) ***All research proposals must be submitted through BLACKBOARD and not gatormail. ***Students will use Times New Roman 12-point font for this portion of the assignment, use APA, and paper must be double-spaced. Failure to follow format will result in a deduction of points.
