Instruction
For each wild organism you find you will need to send a photo that you have taken with the following required info:
Classification
Domain
Kingdom
And as much other classification info that you can determine. You should be able to come up with at least the phylum in most cases.
Collection data:
Where: you found the organism & type of habitat (e.g. lawn, in a puddle, in a stream…)
When: date and approximate time of day
Other info: What else can you say about this organism? Think about the charts we have been filling out.
Based on what you’ve learned, are there any characteristics the organism likely has that you can’t actually see.
Organisms that don’t count:
- Ornamental plants (things that are purposely planted) unless : you are able to find flowers on plants that most people don’t think of as “flowering plants” (e.g. grass) or find the parts of the plants indicated in the list below.
- Pets or livestock
