Instruction
Your review should be two pages long, 12-point font, double spaced. Do not Google the exhibit and copy and paste published reviews.
Here are the guidelines:
1. Often museums will show many exhibits simultaneously. Choose one of the exhibits. Read the description of the exhibit online so you have an idea of what you will encounter. Be sure to write down the full name of the exhibit, the venue where it is being shown, the artists included in the exhibit, and the name(s) of the curator(s).
2. Walk and or attend virtually the entire exhibit. While doing so, you may take notes on those pieces that most intrigue you.
3. Describe the theme of the exhibit. What does the curator hope to accomplish?
4. Select 3 pieces that exemplify best the museum’s theme. Describe each piece, naming the artist, medium used and determine whether the piece successfully accomplishes the curator’s goal.
5. Determine the time period in which the artwork was produced. What does the piece reveal about the historical time period in which it was written?
