In the spirit of Valentine's Day, consider the Business of Love and the economic activity associated with the holiday. Can we put a price on love, if so what is the price and how should we account (economically, monetarily, psychologically, etc.) for love? What are the impacts of Valentines Day on the economy, especially in our current economic climate? What markets currently exist and/or have emerged (online, offline, international, etc.) to meet the demand for love? Consider the prices of goods and services related to the holiday. What businesses have you noticed that is taking advantage of the holiday to offer a promotion? Does it seem ridiculous for a Plumber to offer a Valentine promotion like, `Nothing says 'I love you' more that a working toilet,` for discounted plumbing services? Also, consider your personal spending. What did you spend on your Valentine(s)? Was this any different than last year? What factors determined your spending? Examine the economic concepts and theories we've covered thus far as they relate to the topic. Address questions you find of interest, you do not have to answer all questions.
