The examples below are paragraphs written by students in the course who were willing to share their work. Yours does not have to look exactly like this, but they are both good illustrations of how the assignment should look. Example #1 Social media applications have revolutionized how individuals interact and learn. Applications such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter have provided an instant connection between people and information. Unfortunately, these platforms are difficult to monitor, leading to increasing occurrences of misinformation. This raises important questions about how we need to prepare students to think critically while browsing them. The highly influential decision making of young adults is being compounded by social media-based misinformation. Thus, adding courses into our general education requirements related to identifying misinformation could bring stability to young adults. Example #2 Schools provide students with plenty of tools to weed out fallacious information on the web. However, many students continue to share and promote false claims on social media. With no solid method set in place, utilizing the web for reliable information is doing more harm than good.
