1. A final integrative paper, APA style and referenced, 7-8 pages, due on the last day of class. This paper provides an opportunity for you to design a counseling group for a particular population. This group might be one which you might facilitate in your professional career. Discuss the specifics of the group. What type of group will you be leading? What are the special considerations in facilitating this group? The paper should address several points including: a) key purpose of group, b) view of your role as a group leader, c) role of group members, d) key developmental tasks and group goals, e) techniques and methods, and f) stages in the evolution of the group. Be original and show that you are able to synthesize, integrate, and conceptualize a model that will help you work effectively as a group leader with this population. (25% of grade) 2. Design a poster or brochure for the group that would appeal to the target population. Include pertinent information (e.g., who, what, where, when, why, how, etc.) 3. You will need to measure the success of the group. Design an evaluation form for group participants to complete so that you can report outcome data. Provide a rationale for the items you include on the evaluation. Paper: Address the following issues in your paper: A. Brief Introduction B. Begin with sanction from the agency (how you will achieve sanction, etc.). C. The kind of group that would best serve this at-risk population. (include whether the group will be open or closed and give rationale for your choice) D. Leadership skills needed E. Membership recruitment F. Time frame G. Location H. Physical environment I. Basic norms of the group J. The stages of the group and expected process each stage group development K Intervention and assessment skills used L. Ethical considerations for this population & how you would resolve any ethical dilemmas M. Termination N. Evaluation Use of the strengths perspective model should be included in this paper. The paper should be 7-8 pages in length, and you must back up your paper with a minimum of (8) eight professional references of which (4) four must be social work journals. It must be APA style, typed, with one inch margins, using 12 point font and double spaced.

  • I spoke with my teacher and she expressed to me its like a post test to group each group member will get in. She basically said to think of it as a client satisfaction survey. She said to google client evaluation of group experience in social work. As far as the brochure or you can do a flyer, my teacher stated its just an advertisement of your group like a recruitment flyer because you may want clients from other clinicians or caseload at your agency/school.
