Instruction
The student will choose to interview one person who works at an agency or organization providing services for children between 1 – 6 years of age OR a parent of a child between 1 – 6 years of age. (cannot be spouse or self). Be sure to set up a time to sit and complete the interview. Tell him or her the interview will last for approximately 1 hour. Final assessment submission should be typed, double space, 10- or 12-point font and a minimum of 3 pages. A suggested format for each interview is below. The first page (minimum) of your submission should be a summary of the responses to the interview questions. The second page (minimum) of your submission should deal with your thoughts, reflections, and comments concerning the interview and the information you gathered. What did you learn? What surprised you? How did this experience compare to your own childhood period or if you are parent – to your parenting? The third page (minimum) of your submission should connect the information you acquired from the parent about parenting with at least one concept or theory presented in class or in your reading. Use key phrases such as “for example”, “as a result of”, “another idea that supports my view is”.
