Instruction
For your final project, I want you to connect what we've talked about this semester with the present. I want you to choose one of the first fourteen discussion readings and turn it into a longer paper of around 1600 words showing how whatever we talked about that week still affects the present. For instance, if you picked Part 3, where we compared and contrasted Calvin and al-Wahhab, you could talk about how Calvinism and Wahhabism are still around and how their founders' ideas still affect the modern world. It's up to you which you pick and I strongly suggest you only pick one topic.
The paper must meet the following requirements:
It must be around 1600 words long.
It must include in-text citations (MLA or Chicago) AND a works cited page.
It must be uploaded through Blackboard. If you need help with that, let me know, but I can't really accept files attached to emails on this one.
It must be double-spaced and in a 10- or 12-point, professional looking font - so no Comic Sans.
It can NOT use Wikipedia or its clones as a source.
It must use the primary source readings connected to your topic. For instance, if you pick Calvinism and Wahhabism, it must use the Geneva Confession of Faith and/or the Doctrine of the Wahhabis.
As much of the paper as possible should be in your own words. I encourage you to check the SafeAssign report and try to get the percentage of material you used from other sources to be as low as possible.
Otherwise, you have the freedom to take this wherever you want. You'll probably have to do some extra research on this and I encourage you to use primary source documents (that is, actual historical documents) whenever you can. This will be due at 11:59:59 PM, Eastern time, on July 30. If for some reason you can't make that deadline, let me know ASAP. Grades are due on the shortly after that so there's no way I can give you credit for late work on this one.
