Instruction
Remember, the literary analysis essay is not a summary. Assume that your reader has read the story, so you can focus on analyzing themes, writing style, or other aspects of the work.
Your essay must also include AT LEAST one scholarly article that supports your interpretation (or some aspect of your interpretation) of the primary text.
Keep in mind that you are not doing a summary or review of this scholarly article, nor are you simply repeating what the article's author has said; you are using the information from this article to support your argument.
If you need a refresher on how to locate articles in an academic database, review the information in your Using Sources in Essays in English Composition II module.
