NOTES ON HOW TO WRITE PROJECT 4
Your 3-page paper must incorporate the following sections:
1) Introduction to the Problem

General information on the problem/issue/situation
Just as any introduction you have written, but telling about the problem
2) Causes & Consequences of the Problem

What led to the situation?
Who is responsible for making the problem exist?
Why does this situation exist?
What will happen is no one does anything?
How much worse can the situation become?
3) Proposed Solution

Very direct statement plus description.
I am proposing that . be implemented to benefit ..
Dont try to save the world. Carve out ONE GOOD ANSWER to ONE BAD PROBLEM.
WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION TO ONE PROBLEM TO BENEFIT ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE?
4) Benefits of the Solution
What are all the GOOD things that we will see if this proposal is accepted and implemented?
What is the IMPROVEMENT?
Who benefits?
What will the change look like? How will it be BETTER?
What are the obvious benefits? What are the good situations that we cannot even see yet?
Also, will the power-holding decision-maker (or money donor) also benefit?

5) Feasibility & Implementation Analysis
SHOW HOW YOUR SOLUTION IS POSSIBLE. Does it make sense? How?
Pretend that your decision-maker said NO even though s/he agreed that your solution was
good. NOW, you have to PERSUADE the decision-maker that your idea is both POSSIBLE and
AFFORDABLE --- THAT THE MONEY, TIME, PEOPLE, AND WORK will be DO-ABLE.
