Then, as our Visual Arts paper, students will write two short essays, (2-3 paragraphs essays are expected), one essay for each work chosen. In this case, the Instructor will not choose the works for you -- you are free to choose whichever 2 works you feel you can best write about. The same guidance questions from our in-class discussions will apply.

The questions are, for each artwork chosen: -> Label each artwork with its proper title, artist, and what media are used by the creator. -> What do you think the artist was trying to achieve with this work? Explain how you think they did or did not succeed. -> Is there some symbolism in the work? -> Do you find any iconography in the work? Explain where. -> Are any raw numbers from the Fibonacci sequence used? Or placement of elements within the work that follow the Golden Ratio? Or any detectable Fibonacci spirals? -> What is your personal reaction to the work? Do you feel anything in particular when viewing the work? Does it stimulate some new thoughts, or stir a memory from the past perhaps? Standard font for these 2 Visual Arts essays will be Times New Roman, size 11.
