Analyze one of the literary works that were assigned this semester and that are listed below as an expression of individual or communal values within a social, political, cultural or religious context of a literary period. In other words, select at least three qualities that make this work a reflection of its author, time, or place. Then explain what qualities make this work universal and relevant to the present day. Write a minimum of 600 words using at least three secondary sources in addition to the primary source. Write in MLA format using in-text citations and a Works Cited page. Bring the essay to class for peer review on the Monday, June 30, 2014 before it is due. Submit essay through Blackboard Assignments by Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:30 PM.
