Investigate the pregnancy and birthing process of your own birth. If you do not have access to information about your birth, conduct your analysis on a friend’s birth (a friend who is NOT in this class). If you are a parent, you may also discuss your child’s birth and provide an analysis of the birth in terms of the degree to which was in keeping with a medicalized pregnancy and birthing process, a feminist approach, cultural traditions, or some mix of these. Be sure to support your analysis with specific examples. Write a brief reflection report in which you that is 2-3 pages: Summarize the pregnancy and birthing process, including: Whether the birth mother read books/literature about pregnancy and childbirth Whether the birth mother went to regularly scheduled medical checkups The types of procedures/tests physicians performed during the pregnancy
