Historical Context Method Lab -- Using the media analysis ideas we discussed in class about gender, or sexuality, analyze an episode of the television show Master of None s2, e8, “Thanksgiving” The thesis should be based around the question: What is the relationship between this text’s representation of gender, or sexuality and its historical context? Intro: Good hook about the topic. Structure this in three parts (after the intro, before conclusion): 1. Offer a brief discussion of the history of (EITHER race, gender, or sexuality) within US American culture. (1-2 paragraphs) 2. Discuss how that history is represented/discussed or not in this episode. (about 1 page) 3. How does it present the present-day culture in relation to that history? (about 1 page)
