Instruction
Each student will watch one video chosen from the list in the syllabus. After watching the video, the student will write a 3-5 page paper (double-spaced, 12-pt. font, 1-inch margins) that includes the following: 1.A very brief (2-3 sentence) description ofthe story/plot2.A description of how the older people in the movie are portrayed (discussing issues such as stereotypes, life roles and activities, and interactions with younger people)3.A thoughtful analysis of how the older people in the videos are shown compared with those that are portrayed in other types of media including but not limited to TV, newspapers, and magazines4.A conclusion related to how the various types of mediainfluence how older people are viewed in American societyThe media paper should be in APA format. Atitle page, headings and subheadings are required; however, anabstract is not required. The paper should include at least 3 pages of content; not including the titleand referencepage.The textbook must be used as a reference and included in the reference page.Ten points will be deducted from the final grade of the paper if the requirements are not met. The grading rubric for the media paperis as follows (the amount of each percentage awarded is dependent on the quality of the work).
