My topic is about the amount of self- disclosure and comfortability of communication in class rooms due to online courses both asynchronous and synchronous compared to face to face learning. I need help with creating my a research methods paper for a communication senior seminar class. I need part one and part 2 completed talking about research regarding the communication and self disclosure in the classroom. Sources must be listed with a small bibliography about each source.

My Research question is listed in the document below and I will be using a focus group and survey to conduct my research. In my sample logistics- students will be interviewed. I will send out a poll to student body. I do not care about the sample size usage and i can answer the more personal questions far concerning dates. Theory – Social Penetration Theory Research questions: What is it about the communication that happens or doesn’t happens in the different methods of teaching? And how does it influence student’s perception of their professor and their enjoyment of the class required incorporated information Looking at: The way communication styles are different Prerecorded lectures all about business, less self-disclosure, may lead to differences between the student and the professor. Not less self-disclosure in prerecorded courses. Communication might influence people feelings Something to analysis - There’s more opportunity for self-disclosure on live face to face teaching and comparing asynchronous and synchronous? Survey Questions along the lines of How much do you know about your professor? What’s your comfort level with your professor? Do you know anything about your professor outside of school? do you know anything about the professor personality? Are they enjoying the course? Do they feel the professor is invested in their ability to learn? Self-disclosure and relationship development and how it is happening or not happening Look for examples on how it is happening or not happening Conclusion- one of the reasons why students are not feeling connected with their professor--- lack of self-disclosure
