PART 1: Module 5: Discussion -- Evaluating PBIS Across all Grade Levels Instructions: Provide a written response to each of the discussion questions below: 1.Describe the importance of evaluation and its application as a key component of positive behavior supports (PBIS) at all levels. 2.Compare evaluation methods appropriate for school-wide behavior support to methods used for individual child interventions. Submission Instructions: Answer all questions thoroughly, following the APA (7th edition) guidelines when citing references from the book and other sources. Your response to each question must be a minimum of 3-4 sentences and clearly written without grammatical and/or spelling errors. Throughout his TEDTalk presentation, he stressed that all children and adolescents can be taught key behavioral strategies and skills—such as flexibility, frustration tolerance, and problem solving. The second video, Education Revolution, provides an example of high school students with significant behavioral disorders and problems, prior to and after implementation of PBIS. The video presents the viewpoints of students and teachers who were directly impacted by the implementation of the PBIS system in their school. Look at each video clipping provided and discuss the overarching theme or message both videos seem to portray. Describe your initial reactions and share your thoughts about the recommendations suggested. Provide specific examples were appropriate. Instructions: Summarize your reflections in two-to-three paragraphs. PART 3: Module 5: Assignment 2 -- Group Development and Students with EBD - Article Critique Cooperative learning and peer tutoring have been recognized as effective strategies to use with students with varying exceptionalities, including students with EBD. The literature suggests that planning for different group activities is very similar to planning for individual students in that the teacher must take into consideration each student’s ability to work cooperatively with peers in different group configurations and sizes. Critical to effective group interactions is the teacher being aware of each student’s group developmental level and assigning the student to an appropriate group activity. Instructions: Read the attached the article entitled Group Development for Students with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (Rockwell & Guetzloe, 1996). You may access a copy of the article by clicking on the link below. Write a brief summary of the article and explain how it has informed your instructional practices. In your summary, define the psychological and social needs of students at each stage of group development (Stages 1, 2, & 3).
