Instruction
• Demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively with professionals in various
disciplines, policy makers and the general public at large, on scientific and
technical information (in the context of geospatial data analysis) via oral & written
communication.
After successfully completing your geospatial analysis project, you will do the following:
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation (30-min. max.) that you will present to your GIS551 class
during regular class time during the final two weeks of the semester (i.e., weeks 12 & 13 of
the Fall 2020 semester). Please note that classes on the above mentioned dates will begin
on time and the last class will end when the last scheduled presentation is completed. This
presentation will provide a review of the work that you undertook and it must contain the
following sections (with 30-40 slides max.):
1. Project title and clearly defined objectives of the geospatial analysis.
2. A concise description of the study site/area (or alternatively both, a regional
and a local map clearly showing the study area).
3. A list of the GIS data types and formats used in the study (be specific, in terms of
shapefiles, coverages, aerial photographs, data tables, etc.) and their sources.
