NO PLAGARISM. Part I: Annotated Bibliography
At this point you should have chosen your topic for research. Now you will begin part 1 of the research process which is to produce an Annotated Bibliography. Ann. Bib is a list of sources with annotations that provide a summary and an evaluation of each source. If you do the Ann. Bib correctly, you will be well informed on your topic before you even sit down to write your paper. That is the whole point of the Ann. Bib, getting to know your sources. This means that not all the sources listed will you necessarily use in the paper. You have taken the time to go through sources and evaluate them for the usefulness. Again, that is the whole point. It forces you to begin the research process. Be sure to look for sources that will help you support your argument. For example, if you are going to argue that the wearing of masks should be made a federal law, than find sources which show wearing masks prevents spread of Covid. Here are the specific requirements:
• Minimum 6 sources. You may use google scholar, or any reputable website, especially those ending in .edu or .org, but make sure your sources are valid).
• Annotations and evaluations should be approximately 100-150 words.
• MLA format (I have loaded an example of an Ann. Bib in MLA format. Make sure to take a look at this, make sure you follow the same format. The indents and margins are important to follow exactly).

Part II: Argument Research Paper
Now is time to put to use all of the rhetorical strategies you have analyzed in visuals, commercials and speeches this semester. Think about ethos, pathos and logos, and which of these strategies will work best to convince the reader of your claim. Of course in reality all three should be used. How do you establish your ethos in this situation? By showing that you have done your research and that you know a lot about your subject. This makes you credible. You can also share personal anecdotes, which makes the reader trust you. Something to keep in mind, you need not, and should not use first person in this essay. You may be thinking how do I state my argument without using the first person pronoun “I”. You just do. If you state “masks should be work by all citizens” it is understood this is what you are arguing so avoid first person. Here are the minimum requirements for this assignment:
• Minimum 800 words
• Minimum 4 quotes from valid sources correctly cited parenthetically
• WORKS CITED page.
• MLA format (double spaced, size 12 font, correct heading, etc
