Instruction
Note: Before you begin this discussion, make sure you read the Basic Discussion Requirements in the “Getting Started” module.
Discussion 6 concerns lifespan transitions during early and middle adulthood. Support your responses with concepts you find in your text, in other course material, or through independent research. If you exceed the minimum requirements, your grade will be higher. Follow the instructions below to complete the discussion, which has a grade value worth 5 points or 5% of your final grade.
Instructions:
Your initial response will concern one of the following transition topics:
Leaving home (early adulthood)
Marriage (early or middle adulthood)
Separation, divorce, and return to single life or remarriage (early or middle adulthood)
Retirement (middle adulthood)
Work (early or middle adulthood)
Parenthood (early adulthood)
Select the topic you want to write about in your initial response. You should discuss issues concerning social and emotional development for the transition you selected. You should discuss this from a male or female perspective (you decide), but not both.
You must respond to the initial responses of at least two other students. Your responses should address one way in which the transition described is different for members of the other gender that was not included in the initial response. Responses should cover different points from your text and outside research and advance the discussion.
