Instruction
students will then write a 4-page, brief literature review (i.e., with a minimum of six (6) articles or sources that address the following information:
1. How research in the chosen area of interest (e.g., systematic desensitization) has changed over the decades, since its initial publication in the field? What have been the trends in research (i.e., type of studies, samples used, etc.) in this area?
2. What are the basic contentions, or debates, in the research that have been highlighted within this body of research? For example, what are the opposing viewpoints on how best to demonstrate the visual cliff effect in infants? Where is there also agreement in the literature? Who says and why?
3. What might you suggest are some of the basic limitations inherent in how the research in this area is conducted? How might we advance research in this area in the next decade or two? Consider here some of the ethical and diversity issues, which might have been inherent in or missing from the design of the research.
4. What impact/effect does this research have on your chosen profession or future career? How does the research in this area facilitate your awareness of the issues in the field?
