Your first assignment is due on Tuesday, September 2nd. Please choose one piece of artwork to review. I would suggest reviewing a painting. You may choose a work in your textbook or a work of art by an artist mentioned in the introductory lecture. Please analyse the work objectively, telling how the picture is composted, what images make up the work, etc. Secondly, you should provide a subjective statement about the work. This should involve your personal thoughts about the work, based on your observations. This is not a research paper. You should include the title and artist of the work, but you willl not need to conduct research. You may choose to explore the history of the work on your own. Please hand in your work on Tuesday. It should be typed, double spaced, twelve point font, and two pages long. Also, please read chapter 1
