Film Critique Paper

Date Posted: 14/12/2020
Category: Other
Due Date: 16/12/2020
Instruction
Select a movie from the approved list below to watch and then provide an analysis of a character from that movie who was intended to portray a gifted individual. The paper should reflect any examples of accurate portrayals of gifted individuals and/or stereotypical representations. An introduction stating your general opinion and summary that brings together your thoughts should be included. DO NOT summarize the movie. Rather, make clear and succinct points, using examples from the film to support your ideas. Your paper should be 3-pages minimum; double spaced; 12 pt. font. Introduction (Introduce your point of view) Does the movie reflect stereotypes and/or accurate representations of the gifted character? Does the movie reflect prevailing myths about gifted persons? Does the movie positively reflect gifted persons and/or the field of gifted education? Body of Paper (Make your argument) Use examples and excerpts from the film to illustrate your point. Refer to your knowledge-base/personal experiences to reference your opinions. Conclusion (Summarize your major points about accuracy and/or stereotypes) What does this portrayal mean to gifted education? What other implications exist?
