Description is an art. Whether the subject is common or extraordinary, writers can create interest for anything by using vivid and evocative detail to describe it. The sensea of sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell are captured in mind of the writer and used to recreate something- a place, a person, an object- on the page. Write descriptive essay using the following prompt: Henryk Ross's photographs of the Lodz Ghetto depict the everyday life of Jewish people living in Nazi occupied Poland. The collection includes pictures of people dancing, laughing, tending babies, laboring in service to the Reich, and being carried away to death camps to be exterminated. Ross buried these photographs in 1944. As one of the few survivors of the Lodz Ghetto, he was able to dig them up in 1945 when Poland was liberated. Ross captured a moment in time, and it was important to him to preserve the record. While photography was still relatively rare in th 1940s, it is ubiquitous today. Use the internet to find one to three photographs that best represent our world today. Implementing the principles of description that you have learned about, describe the photograph or photographs you choose and explain why they embody current times. Note: You should include photograph(s) in your essay. You can do so using the copy/paste function. Note: You should not turn this paper into a research essay. This primil8a descriptive essay.
