  • with the input the user plugs in the number of rooks for the first line, than types the file and rank (row/column) for the proceeding lines for each rook. the output displays the number of rooks in a said rooks path and then shows the value of the rook. the case 1 and 2 and simply a visual of this concept. He gave me code that had a similar design but achieved a different probelm.

  • so if rook number one was on column "2" and row "2", and rook number two was on column "2" and row "1", since their on the same path w/ regards to the column the output would display 1 (representing the number of rooks in rook ones path) and 2 (which is the number representing the rook in front of rook one).
