Love versus Honor
Two of the central themes in The Cid are honor and love. Discuss how honor and love go hand in hand for some characters and their actions, and how other characters struggle to retain their honor and to act according to their love. How is honor defined, and how is love defined by various characters in The Cid, and how do these definitions define the actions they take. Overall, do you find that characters successfully combine honor and love, or not? Why, or why not? What do you think is the relationship between these two concepts in the play and in our culture?
And please see the attachments .
Thank you.
