Research and select a business/organization of your choice – it can be a national, local or international (Starbucks). but here are the basics: 8 to 10 pages written paper in standard format (must have at least 4 sources) -Analyze the organization’s current operation/supply chain system (SWOT analysis) -Identify issues/challenges the organization faces/faced through the COVID challenge -Critique the plan Cover Page • Name of company & your name (first & last name) Section I: Description of Company • History • Mission/Vision • Competitors • Profitable/not profitable Section II: Overall analysis of the business (SWOT Analysis) • Strengths: What do they do well • Weaknesses: What could they do better • Opportunities: What opportunities could they take advantage of • Threats: What threats exist to the business/organization Section III: Operational/Supply Chain Issue impacted by COVID • Identify issue • Background on the issue • How long has this been an issue • Any other important information Section IV: Critique of their Approach • What has gone well • What did not go well • Suggestions for going forward Paper Requirements: APA Format • Times New Roman 12 pitch • One inch margins & double spaced • 8 to 10 pages – The paper must be at least 8 pages – this is 8 pages without cover sheets or source pages. If it is not at least 8 pages, it will detract seriously from the grade. • Must have sources in the body of the paper and a bibliography/source section An Outstanding Paper - • Writing style/tense/sentence & paragraphs structure should match from section to section • Label each section – let’s reader know where he/she is at • Graphs/Charts/Photos are good - not too many, but some really helps • Strands of numbers can be broken down into bullet statements • Formatting – be sure the paper looks “right” when saved as a PDF. Make sure spacing hasn’t jumped around, photos moved, etc., when you are piecing the final paper together • Beware of long sentences – subject matter can get lost if sentence goes too long • Paragraph length – same thing here – when in doubt, break long paragraphs into 2 or more paragraphs • History/Background are important, but should be shorter sections than the Problem or Solution sections
