InstructionAs with all prior assignments, both the proposal and application for Assignment #5 are fictitious. They are intended to be used for educational purposes only. Instructions: You will be applying (as the Executive Director) for Survivors of Crime Act (SOCA) funding. [SOCA is a hypothetical funding source modeled after the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA)]. SOCA is a MATCHING GRANT that funds direct service activities and educational outreach. Consequently, in your budget narrative, you will need to explain how the funds will be matched (at a rate of 50%) by other sources. Such sources may include: other grants, fundraising a ctivities, and the fair market value of in-kind/volunteer donations. Overview: The purpose of the grant is to expand your services to include programming for human trafficking victims. [While s ome of the programming will be the same (ex. safe refuge at the existing shelter facility, etc.), the project will ENHANCE what you currently offer to better meet trafficking survivors' needs.) Note: Shelter services will necessarily be restricted to adult victims of human trafficking and/or child survivors accompanied by a non-offending caregiver or a legal guardian. E ducational o utreach, counseling, and sexual assault accompaniment may be conducted with victims of all ages. Among other things, consider employing a Trafficking Specialist and providing targeted outreach education to vulnerable/high risk populations. This grant focuses on underserved victims so be sure to explain how you will overcome potential language barriers. Also be sure to address the following: What is a reasonable salary for a Trafficking Specialist? What might it realistically cost to print educational materials (ex. brochures, etc.)? Are there other direct or indirect costs associated with implementing the proposed project? *Click on the following link to access the SOCA application:
