Some sample topics might include things like the following: • Workplace bullying and harassment: How can an HR manager address them. • How can a company maximize its diversity and inclusivity? What is their impact on workplace dynamics? • New labor laws or trends • Post-Covid implications for employee engagement and performance? Implications for HR? • Emerging trends in training and development • The current "state of the Union" and trends in labor relations • Cultivating emotional intelligence in leadership • Develop an outline for a proposed training program or organizational development intervention • etc. THE ASSIGNMENT: • Identify the topic, issue, or problem you are looking to address • Describe your objectives (what you are trying to accomplish in your paper) • Complete background research using at least three external credible resources (Billy Bob's Blog doesn't count) • Summarize your findings • Present your recommendations and application • Have fun with it...explore, be creative, be contrarian....just learn something! THE FORMAT: • 3-5 pages • No greater than 1-inch margins • No greater than 12 pt font • Cite sources using an appropriate format (APA, MLA, etc.). I don't care which one - just be consistent GRADING: I will be grading based upon the following criteria: Analysis (5 pts): Identified, summarized, integrated, and cited appropriate reference materials Insight (5 pts): Demonstrated an understanding of the key concepts the ability to critically evaluate relevant thoughts and information Application (5 pts): Effectively applied key principles, arguments, and information to a practical situation
