InstructionCorporate Diversity Initiatives: Who is Doing What? Whether workplace diversity and/or diversity initiatives actually make companies more profitable is debatable. Research show that it does, but not everyone is convinced. Large and successful companies have invest their resources and show that implementation of diversity initiatives helps them in the long run. DiversityInc (www.diversityinc.com (Links to an external site.)), a magazine that addresses issues of workplace diversity published their 2020 List of 50 (Links to an external site.)companies they consider to be noteworthy promoters of diversity. Typically, those companies has a web page dedicated to informing potential employees about their diversity initiatives. Most of the companies on this list, if not all, will also have similar information on their respective websites. This is usually found in their “careers” section. For your final project, select three companies from this list and visit their websites. Research their diversity programs and write an essay (500 words minimum, excluding any reference list) describing the companies you selected and their diversity initiatives. You should include the following in your essay: (CAUTION: Do not cut-and-paste content from your companies’ websites and submit as your own. Any description of the company or their diversity initiatives MUST be in your own words.) 1. Why did you choose these companies? For example, do you choose them because of their product, service, or marketing? 2. Describe your chosen companies' diversity programs. How do they create a diverse company? Is there anything unique about their initiatives, perhaps an interesting training program, scholarships, or community involvement? 3. Why diversity is important to them? Can other companies (in or not in the list) learn from them to promote more diversity? Your writing should be clear, concise, complete, and original. Use proper citation if you want to cite other people's work.
