For the solar thermal assignment you will need to do some research on Passive house design. Once you have all of your information you will need to compose a paper (two pages double spaced) that discuses your research and and answers the questions below. The paper should be more of a research document with section headings and continuous flow. Please do not create a question and answer sheet! What is a passive house and what makes it different from a typical home? What is an energy audit and how can it be applied to a passive house? What does someone need to consider about site selection if they would like to build a passive house. How do window selection (and location), thermal mass, insulation, heat distribution mechanisms, and gain/loss strategies impact the design of a passive house. What are the values of direct, indirect, and isolated gain in passive house design.
